Alyssa Criswell, RMHC-I
Alyssa Criswell is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and their families as they navigate life's challenges. Alyssa holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Barry University (CACREP Accredited Program).She works with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral and emotional regulation, and family dynamics.
Alyssa's approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. She prioritizes building trust and safety in sessions, using creative and engaging methods such as personalized activities, art and play therapy, and skill-building exercises. She also integrates evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills to help children and teens develop coping skills, emotional awareness, and positive identity.
Understanding that every child is unique, Alyssa enjoys tailoring sessions to meet each client's needs while fostering a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. She works alongside families to promote communication, problem-solving, and positive relationships, helping children and teens feel empowered, understood, and confident as they grow.
